The Music Industry Bassetlaw project will hope to strike a chord with musical entrepreneurs in the district as it hosts its first of six free seminars in Retford on Saturday (18th January).

The project, which hopes to provide musicians and people working within the music industry with a more business-like approach, will begin a series of sessions that cover a range of essential business topics such as promotion, marketing, publishing and many other areas.

Maurice Mulligan, Bassetlaw District Council’s music enterprise officer, said: “Each of the seminars will focus on specific aspects of the music industry, with the first looking at whether music is a hobby or business and how to enhancing your chances of survival in the industry.”
