Worksop Town manager Craig Parry is fully focused on the visit of Tadcaster Albion on Saturday afternoon despite the possibility of the Tigers being crowned champions if results go their way, writes Devon Cash.

The bottom-of-the-table Brewers have had a miserable season, picking up just 18 points from a possible 93 and having to wait for their first win of the season after the turn of the new year.

Despite their struggles, Parry has denied claims the fixture is a ‘free hit’ for the league’s basement club and that they still pose a threat.

He said: “Tadcaster are struggling because they’re fighting for their lives, and we need to approach that in that right manner due to them needing to scrap for as many points as they can.

“I don’t think any team expects to lose against us; I believe that every team will be coming to try ad end our run and they’ll be out to do the same thing, so we need to do the best we can and take the game to them and pick us as many points as we can.

“We have just got to be positive in what we do in our play and remain together as a team to nullify them.

“We will not change our approach or the way we do it, as we will always go after the other team.”

The Tigers could end the day as champions at the Windsor Foodservice Stadium and confirm their return to Step Three of non-league after taking a two-step voluntary relegation in 2014.

Should second-placed Hebburn Town drop points away at fourth-placed Long Eaton United and the Tigers pick up a victory, the title will be in their hands.

If Hebburn turnaround their recent dip in form and come away with a win, then Worksop will need just one point against Brighouse Town next weekend to seal it.

Parry added: “We understand the situation, and we cannot hide away from that and what will be will be. But we have just got to prepare for the game and take three points and when that time comes, we will celebrate it.

“For now, the players will be under strong instruction to forget about anything to do with winning the league; all our focus is on getting as many points as we can and wherever that takes us, we will decide from there.

“It would be great to celebrate at home with the fans and that position will come, so we will just be solely focused on the game.”
