Retford-based Kara’s Kitchen has wowed food fans with its signature dish paella to gain a place as finalist at the British Street Food Awards.

The central heat of the awards was hosted by the Nottingham Street Food Club in Sneinton Market recently.

The three-day event saw food traders going head-to-head in one of the world’s most prestigious and vigorous street food competitions, founded by award-winning food journalist and broadcaster Richard Johnson in 2009.

Signature dishes were prepared and served from Kara’s Kitchen’s unique and quirky food stall, made from recycled materials from a 1950s pub.
